Blackjack Essential Basics – Part 1
The basic premise of the card game is to be handed cards totaling up to 21. Every black jack player is assigned two cards. When a blackjack player is handed a 9 or less and an Ace they have been given a soft hand. When the gambler is dealt no Ace it is known as a hard hand. Once the cards have been handed to every player at the blackjack table, which includes the dealer, each black jack player is provided the opportunity to make 1 of six decisions:
Requesting another card (Hit): When a black jack player says "hit" the croupier will deal them another card, if the adding of that card makes the value of the hand to exceed 21 the gambler will have busted and be excluded from the game, if the card makes the total to twenty-one the player wins and if the total has not yet reached twenty one they are still in the game.
Keeping the hand you’ve been given: If a black jack player is satisfied with the hand they’ll stand. As soon as this has happened the dealer will reveal his or her hand and the player who has accumulated twenty one or the nearest to 21 will acquire a win.
Doubling Down: A black jack player might ask to double down which increases the wager by 100% they have placed. Once you have taken this action you can only receive one additional card. The specifics of doubling down are often out lined by the table or casino rules so prior to gambling be sure you’re comfortable with the house game rules. If you are playing at an on-line casino this is usually very simple.
